Lisa Zola Greer is a philanthropist, entrepreneur, convener and the author of the bestselling book “Philanthropy Revolution.” Over the last decade her home in Beverly Hills has hosted nearly 200 charitable events connecting nonprofits with donors and the community.
Lisa presented a very honest and candid look at what your donors want and need. Lisa discussed how to connect and build relationships with donors.
Lisa answered questions that attendees submitted and was able to give them an inside look into how donor’s process and react to how organizations interact and treat them.
Cherian Koshy- Donor Retention
Cherian Koshy, a nonprofit and fundraising expert, is the Director of Development for the Des Moines Performing Arts.
Average sector donor retention rates are abysmal. Which is too bad because retaining current donors costs less to your nonprofit than acquiring new ones.
Cherian shared best practices, tips and expert advice with attendees so they could learn how to retain donors year over year. Cherian also discussed building relationships, fundraising strategy, monthly giving and more.
Beth Ann Locke- Gratitude Attitude
Beth Ann Locke is a fundraising expert and the Chief Spark at The Fundraiser Coach.
Proper gratitude to donors and supporters should be a bedrock of your fundraising efforts. At the end of the day, donors remember the thank you your organization sends them more than the appeal itself. Having a proper gratitude attitude will help boost retention rates and cause higher lifetime giving.
Beth discussed how gratitude helps future fundraising, the importance of injecting the human element into thank yous, ways to say thanks that can be implemented right away and more. As a bonus, Beth reviewed 2 thank you letters submitted by attendees and shared how to improve them.
Nick Savarese- Planning A Virtual Event
Nick is the Executive Director of the Doug Flutie, Jr. Foundation for Autism.
In 2020, due to Corona, the foundation turned their annual in-person gala into a 100% virtual event, including an auction. Nick and his team planned and managed the event and Nick hosted. The event was extremely successful and raised more than previous in-person events.
Nick joined us to discuss how to move an in-person event to virtual, what worked and what didn’t, lessons learned and more. Nick was extremely forthcoming about his experience and helped attendees understand how they can plan a successful virtual event.
